I've been providing mental health services for the past 22 years in public and private settings. My experience was obtained in the areas of psychosocial rehabilitation, medical social work (hospice), DSS social work (adult protective services), county mental health/substance abuse crisis services, private practice, private agency behavioral health services, and hospital behavioral health services. I'm well trained and experienced in screening/intake duties, case management, assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental disorders. I also provide mental health presentations to community groups, business consultation to LCSWs, and clinical supervision for LCSWAs.
I've been a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for 21 years. I'm a NC Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. I'm also a National Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (NBCCH) and a member of the NC Society of Clinical Hypnosis. I have a Bachelors degree of Social Work, a Bachelors degree in Sociology with a double minor in Women's Studies and Anthropology, and a Bachelors degree in Recreation Resources Administration from North Carolina State University. Creative Psychotherapy, PC is registered with the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensing Board.
In addition to being a mental health professional, I also have an extensive public safety background. This includes 22 years as an EMT and 35 years as an EMS instructor. I'm also an AFAA certified personal trainer and I'm certified in Holy Fire Reiki I, II and Advanced Training.
My personal interests include painting, music, animal bonding, recreation, gardening, and an ongoing exploration of the metaphysical.
