I've been providing mental health services to the community for the past 28 years in both public and private settings. My experience has been obtained in the areas of psychosocial rehabilitation, medical social work (hospice), DSS social work (adult protective services), county mental health/substance abuse crisis services, private agency behavioral health services, private practice, and hospital behavioral health services. I'm well trained and experienced in clinical social work practice which includes: screening/intake, assessment, diagnosing, and the treatment of mental health disorders.  I also provide mental health presentations to community groups, business consultation to LCSWs, and clinical supervision for LCSWAs.

I've been a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) for 27 years. I'm a NC Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from East Carolina University. I'm also a certified clinical hypnotherapist and member of NBCCH.Community,  a Certified Grief Informed Professional (CGP) , a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), and a NC First Commitment Examiner. I have a Bachelors degree of Social Work, a Bachelors degree in Sociology with a double minor in Women's Studies and Anthropology, and a Bachelors degree in Recreation Resources Administration from North Carolina State University. Creative Psychotherapy, PC is a registered practice with the North Carolina Social Work Certification and Licensing Board.

In addition to being a mental health professional, I also have an extensive public safety background. This includes 22 years as an EMT and 37 years as an EMS instructor.

My personal interests include painting, music, animal bonding, recreation, gardening, and an ongoing exploration of the metaphysical. I'm certified as a Usui Holy Fire Reiki Ryoho Master.
